Formal hose are traditionally made of silk. Some are plain, others have muted or exciting designs. Although they are usually black, Red is sometimes used with other red accessories (tie, cummerbund), for a more exciting look. At times, in tropical settings or at the resort, white Sea Island cotton or silk are used. Pure Silk, though proper, is delicate. For greater durability, we also offer silk/nylon blend.

The most traditional conservative design is the tonal side panel. A simple vertical panel is seamlessly woven into the side of the hose for a subtle design effect. At more modern cultural events such as awards shows like the Oscars or national beauty pageants a more exciting design is called for. It is for this purpose that we offer the Teatro, an updated derivation of classic style.

All luxury socks should be laundered in cold water and dried without heat for the best longevity. A dryer is acceptable, except for silk, if used on the no-heat "fluff" setting.
