Calzificio Bresciani is unique. A family business in many ways like ours, at Bresciani's helm is patriarch Mario Bresciani. Widely respected as the world's foremost authority on top-quality knitting, Sr. Bresciani's expertise in the fields of socks and underwear spans more than a half-century.
Calzificio Bresciani's specialty is making beautiful, sized socks from 100% natural fibers and an unparalleled line of men's underwear, a rare blend of science and art. Working in cotton, merino, cashmere, silk, and even baby camel hair, with a library of designs and a history to rival any, Bresicani's sock patterns are some of the most striking and beautiful in our repertoire. Although design is a family-wide pursuit of art, driving the firm forward are the elder Bresciani's sons Massimiliano - in charge of worldwide client relations, and brother Fabio who oversees production. The roster wouldn't be complete without Luca Arsufi who handles daily interaction with picky people like us who insist upon demanding only the best.
Bresciani makes us many exclusive socks for men and for women, including our own best-selling 100% merino Kabbaz-Kelly men's dress socks in a wide variety of plain colors. Seeing a sad decline in quality at Switzerland's formerly iconic Zimmerli after their acquisition by a venture capital group, we implored the Bresciani family to fill the gap by releasing their line of men's underwear to the public. We began working together on "The Underwear Project" back in 2011. Our sole concern was making the best quality available. Luckily for us, the Bresciani's were in complete accord.
Massimiliano Bresciani took the time to explain the company philosophy. "Inspired by historical achieves dating back to the 50's, know-how, research and styling are channeled into the company’s laboratory (Ed's Note: "Laboratory" is Italian parlance meaning an artisan's studio) where skilled professionals with decades of experience research and develop innovative yarns, techniques and products.
